The taking of Pelham 123: I would rather if you haven’t taken it

30 06 2009

Good afternoon my dear old fans (huh!!! as if), I am glad to say that I am back after a long time away. I have been kept away with my MBA and my new job…. ehhhhhh I’ll to that in another post; i am sure you are dying to find out (yeah right).

This post is about something else. It is about one of the most surprisingly tasteless movies i have seen – by far.

Yes you guessed it; I am talking about “The Talking of Pelham 123″

I went with a friend to watch the movie I have been longing for, for quiet sometime, and with a crew like that I thought i was in for a night to remember,  that I was about to see the next Oscar harvester. I mean we are talking Travolta and Den-fuckin’-zel, not to mention the guy from the Sopranos, wasn’t his name Tony something (just kidding no one can forget James Gandolfini)

Sadly enough, the movie was nothing like I expected, and it failed miserably to meet my standards. I do not want to spoil the movie for those who haven’t seen it yet (btw don’t) but it lacked everything.

For a thriller it just wasn’t thrilling enough for me, I wasn’t on the edge of my seat. I wasn’t even in the middle of it, In fact, if anything, I was laid back struggling no to fall asleep.

I found the plot to be especially poorly set, it wasn’t smooth and you couldn’t make sense of why the characters did what they did. Not to mention that the idea of kidnapping a train has so been done.

Well, to be fair, I am going to take back my earlier “it lacked everything” statement. The movie was oozing with talent. Well how can it not, Travolta, Denzel, and Gandolfini did everything they could as far as I am concerned. Scratch that they have even out performed themselves. The acting was magnificent. But because everything else sucked you couldn’t feel the passion.

All in all, it was like watching a b-movie and bad one too.

The Anti Wikipedia Masry Movement

Are you aware of Wikipedia Masry?

http://arz.wikipedia.org

This is yet another attempt to destroy our Arabic language and we are here to make sure it fails. Egyptian, or Masry as they call it, is not a language it is merely a slang alteration of Arabic. It is no better or worse than other Arabic Slang derivatives such as: Saudi, Kuwaiti, or Lebnani. Never the less, Masry is the only that has its own Wikipedia.

We already have a beautiful language, a language that has been used by Allah to communicate to Holy Prophet Mohammad PBUH, it is a divine language, and it is called Arabic. Throughout history the world has been mesmerized by the Arabic Language with all its eloquence and glory, and what do we do; we denounce and try to replace it.

Arabic is one of the few languages that haven’t been altered as time passed by. Try reading any piece of literature written in Arabic, be it modern or ancient, and you will see what we are talking about.

Our allegiance lies with Islam and Arabism before it is to Egypt and this is our only way to climb out of the ditch that we have pushed ourselves in. I have a dream; I have a dream to see all Arabs and Muslims united under one flag, to see Arab brothers working in harmony instead of fighting one another. I have dream to Arabic the most widely adopted language throughout the world. Ladies and Gentlemen I have a dream. But alas, unlike Dr. Martin Luther King, I fear I won’t live to see my dream come true. But I’ll be damned before I see it destroyed while I still breathe.

We are great fans of Wikipedia and all what it stands for. But we denounce Wikipedia Masry and the motivation behind it.

We here by condemn Wikipedia Masry and all of its Founders. We accuse them of Conspiracy against the Arabic Language. We accuse them of High Treason against Arabism.

Signed,

The Anti Wikipedia Masry Movement

Goodbye Bush (An Article by Dr. Aeid el Qarany)

13 01 2009

Israel Attacks Ghaza

29 12 2008

Well I was planning to write something about this subject but the following Debate i had with a friend about sums it. So here you go:

Bahaa says “The Egyptian government is gathering troops to Cairo’s sqares and universities instead of supporting Gaza!!!” 5:18pm – 31 Comments

Maged Hussein at 6:07pm December 28
ya and what are you doing?

Bahaa Zaid at 6:55pm December 28
I didn’t vote for mubarak :D

Maged Hussein at 7:01pm December 28
well but u are not doing anything for the palestenians just like the government and just like the rest of the world. so you don’t have the right to criticizethe Government or the poeple or America or even israel. Till you are out there burying the dead, or carrying a weapon or raising money you don’t have the right. Till you do you are just another HYPOCRITE. No offense.

Mohamed Besary at 7:46pm December 28
the history will write

Bahaa Zaid at 8:03pm December 28
Yes, We are not doing anything, we all. But I believe Israel is a temporary state, they know that, and you can notice, they are doing this violence to survive not to live. And I believe that the end of Israel will not be by Hamas or any Gangs activities. The end of Israel will be by a well established state, I suggest Egypt. So someday when Egypt is ruled by good men, Israel will vanish.

Mohamed Besary at 8:07pm December 28
i love the Bi3′al and love who want to bring up el3iyal

Bahaa Zaid at 8:08pm December 28
hahaha, LOLLLLL

Mohamed Besary at 8:09pm December 28
ham yibaky wi ham yida7k

Bahaa Zaid at 8:13pm December 28
we eh el a5bar 3andokom de KSA, fe amn markazi???
wel king Abdallah 3amel eh??

Mohamed Besary at 8:17pm December 28
hahahah ana khayef aqol eni masry

Bahaa Zaid at 8:17pm December 28
hahahahaha, el sabr 7elw

Maged Hussein at 10:19pm December 28
That still doesn’t change the fact that you are not lifting a finger to help then you don’t have the write to point fingers. that’s my whole point.

Bahaa Zaid at 10:36pm December 28
OK, I got it, but really I can’t move a single hair.

Maged Hussein at 11:48pm December 28
Of course you can. You can go over there and fight. What’s keeping you? What’s keeping all of us except that we are too fucking scared and holding on to dear life

Bahaa Zaid at 12:04am December 29
I said this is not the solution, If I went there I will die and Israel will continue killing Palestinians… We need a fuckin’ strong country to enforce Israelis to jump into the sea… OK, I am not fuckin’ scared, OK???? And what the shit you do for them???

Mohamed Besary at 12:11am December 29
i love the mifarfish wi eli 3ayz yi qfish wi kaman el mi7ashish

Maged Hussein at 12:19am December 29
I never said i did any thing. We are all part of the problem. All i am saying that till you do you don’t have the right to point any fingers. and BTW your status message is not consistent with what you are saying. And when you are being attacked you don’t wait to be strong to start defending yourself.

Maged Hussein at 12:22am December 29
Ya and BTW if you weren’t sacred why aren’t you there? Aren’t these your brothers?

Bahaa Zaid at 12:24am December 29
I said I am not there because being there will not do anything, I can do more here….

What about you, adding Israelis on linkedin will help them?
ya 3amil, ya 5ayen….

Maged Hussein at 12:33am December 29
I am being serious now. Like i said we are all not there because we are sacred and that includes me.

So what you are saying is that:

Law wa7ed beyeegy kol youm yedrabak 3ala afak hatseebo yedrabak le7ad ma teb2a aqwa meno we sa3etha tebtedy tedafe3 3an nafsak.

Walahy kowayes bas thats being a coward. Courage is not going into a a fight when you are sure you are going to win.

Plus, What more are u doing while you are here? How is writing code is going to help us in the short run? It surely will in the long run i am not arguing about that. But we might not see the long run.

Plus, if every able bodied muslim man and lad went right now to defend Palestinians we will WIN and we will PUSH THEN INTO THE SEA like you are saying.

Bahaa Zaid at 12:49am December 29
howa ana a2olak kelmetin trod 3alaya be article…

OK, ya maged I agree, law kol able muslim went there, we will make a difference, but I am not able to make every able muslim to go there, I am not able to do anything right now.

I am not helping them by writing code, I write code for myself, and for my wallet.

I will never be a democratic party member, I will never vote for a corrupted man, I will never allow myself to be corrupted, I will do my best to build Egypt… I cannot do more.

Maged Hussein at 12:58am December 29
And that’s exactly why you (and me) are part of the problem, cross that we are the problem. Until we can do more we don’t have the right, we have to earn that right.

Bahaa Zaid at 1:04am December 29
Yesssssssssssss

Maged Hussein at 1:06am December 29
tyb makont te2ol keda mel awel lazem aza3a2 ya3ny. ba2olak eh mesh nazel?

Bahaa Zaid at 1:11am December 29
hahahaha
yalla :D

Maged Hussein at 1:18am December 29
BTW this is totally going on my blog

Bahaa Zaid at 1:18am December 29
howa eh elli going on your blog??? :S

Maged Hussein at 4:21pm December 29
This whole convo is

Bahaa Zaid at 4:33pm December 29
why??????????????

Bahaa Zaid at 4:39pm December 29
if you didn’t get a written permission from me, I will sue you :D :D

Maged Hussein at 9:30pm December 29
Oh Ya let’s see about that

Mobinil’s last Ad: False Advertisment

4 12 2008

Have you all seen Mobinil’s last Ad that’s been airing on the national and cable TV?

Their ad campaign is based on the fact that there are 20 million Egyptians now using Mobinil’s network. They take a step further to enumerate things that 20 million Egyptians can do.

One of their claims is that 20 million Egyptians can form a complete circle holding hand to hand along the equator of the Earth. That cannot be farther from that truth. The average arm span of a grown man is like what; 1.5 meters? By applying simple mathematics one can conclude that the circumstance of a circle formed by 20 million Egyptians is 30 million meters (or 30,000 KM).

The length of the Equator is 40,075 KM. So there you have it ladies and gents False Advertisment in it purest forms

Notting Hill: I just don’t like it any more !!!

9 11 2008

Today i have been wathcing Notting Hill for the 100th time or something and i have decided all of a sudden that i dun like it anymore.; and here is why.

Ana Nicole (Julia Roberts) has been terrible to William (Hugh Grant). She has been terrible to him after he had given her shelter and paparazzi figured out her location by accident. And she has dismissed him so rudely and in the most vulgar manner. And yet all she had to do to win him back was to go back to him and do that “I am just a girl..” speech while looking all girly and gorgeous. That simply isn’t fair…

This is on thing that i love and hate about girls. The amount of control they exert of us. I hate the fact that someone has that kind of control over me. But i love having someone to spoil.

Well, come to think of it i might be criticizing the film and speaking out of turn here for two reasons. First, if i was in his position i might have done the same thing as him. Second, i have a really terrible love life (i might have broken a few hearts but my heart ends up in the ruins more often than not) so who am i to give love advice :D

Burn After Reading: The Review

1 11 2008

I just watched the new Cohen Broth movie “Burn after Reading”, courtsey of our beloved company :D

I gotta admit i really enjoyed watching the movie but i didn’t realize how much i enjoyed it until it was over. You won’t like the movie at first, and ur dislike for it would only grow as the movie progresses only to end up with pure facincation at the very end.

I am trying very hard not to spoil it for ya. But the movie does have depth to it. It is very much political and is loaded with witty humor. it is a must see for anyone with a 3 digit IQ.
